Sagovsky specialises as a somatic movement practitioner. A core part of her somatic practice is the Feldenkrais Method. She is a qualified Feldenkrais practitioner, having graduated from the four-year professional training in London led by Elizabeth Beringer & Scott Clarke; & is a member of the Feldenkrais Guild UK. Her somatic practice also draws on the vital training she has received from a lineage of practitioner-mentors across a range of interconnected disciplines, including: Body-Mind Centering® (Fabiano Culora | Nina Wehnert); Contact Improvisation (Joerg Hassmann | Daniel Werner); Somatic Yoga (Liz Allan | Sarah Scharf); & Actor Movement (Vanessa Ewan | Struan Leslie). Trail-running, sea-swimming, & long-distance hiking are also integral parts of her somatic landscape.

what is somatic movement?

In somatic movement practices participants are encouraged to bring their attention to the sensations & experience of moving, & explore how this informs their sense of self. Different practical explorations are used as a gateway to a wider understanding of yourself, others, & the world around you. Somatic movement practices are about consciously experiencing the present moment, & becoming fully alive in your whole self - which can lead to new insights into how to improve towards specialised physical skills &/or greater wellbeing. Somatic movement practices focus on a holistic integration of body & mind, & often share elements with mindfulness or meditation practice. In somatic movement classes you can learn at your own pace, take the time to explore the world of your internal sensation, & engage your curiosity to create new possibilities for yourself.
